Job Summary: The Sr BI Analyst supports Hiller’s evolution towards digitization and data driven culture. In this role you will be a workstream lead on the Data & Analytics (D&A) team responsible for implementing the data & analytics vision. This will range from managing stakeholder value add projects to resolving data disconnects to proposing process improvements to improve needed data points. We’re seeing candidates who are excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you’re fascinated by the possibilities presented by advanced data modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities.

This position will ideally be located in Phoenix, AZ area, with hybrid work scheduling. We will consider other remote candidates, who are able to work hybrid in another Hiller office location.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement And Lead the Hiller End-to-End BI Transformation
    • Implement a KPI based model from leadership summaries to cross-functional tracking dashboards to customized branch templates (where applicable)
    • Centralize and maintain BI reporting on the D&A Team when applicable to more than one site.
    • Driving all business process and reviews from BI tools where possible
  • Implement Advanced Data Models and Decision Tools Per Use Case
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, and identify pain points for data-driven insights
    • Upon review of major pain points in the business, this role will design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions to solve or streamline where possible.
    • Design and conduct experiments, collect the data necessary to perform statistical hypothesis testing, and create inferences and recommendations
    • Conduct exploratory data analysis and apply deep business knowledge to customer and marketplace data to uncover new business insights
  • Democratize Data Via Data Literacy Training
    • Host general and targeted training to allow users to self-service their needs quarterly.
    • Support branch/corporate users understand the data that is available as applicable
    • Where applicable, this role will need to suggest technology enhancements to leapfrog our teams toward better performance
  • Mentor and guide junior data and analytics team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Education, Licensure & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field

Experience:

  • 6 years of experience with hand on data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization in Tableau, and data mining
  • 6 years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis
  • 6 years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
  • Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses and visualization of targeted data sources
  • Experience leading a team, including projects and deliverables
  • Experience in presenting to leadership to get guidance and propose business cases
  • Experience leading the development of solutions to complex programs
  • Experienced with the following programming languages: Python, R, SQL, DAX, Python and relevant libraries like Pandas, PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities:

  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions
  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy BI solutions for management reporting and tracking
  • Prefer candidates with the demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy end-to-end data-driven solutions in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of data and analytics industry and core analytical techniques and some proficiency with others:
    • multi-variate linear regression
    • logistic regression
    • time series modeling
    • statistical design of experiments and hypothesis testing
    • clustering
    • dimension reduction techniques
    • classification
    • gradient-boosting
    • natural language processing algorithms
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience establishing relationships and building credibility with partners and colleagues
  • The ability to present the materials necessary to communicate the results of analytical work and associated recommendations and influence the use of analytical recommendations.
